    Panel & service · Marbury · 2026

    100 A to 200 A service change on a 1962 ranch

A fuse-era service with a panel that had been extended twice. Replaced with a 200 A service, new meter base and grounding, thirty circuits re-landed and identified. Power down for six hours, permit filed and inspected the same week.

  • A car being charged at a wall-mounted home charging station

    EV charging · Corbin Bend · 2026

Level 2 charger at a detached garage, 90 ft from the panel

The load calculation said the 200 A service had room; the distance said the run was the job. Direct-buried feeder to a small sub-panel in the garage, 40 A charger hardwired, with a spare space left for a second car later.

  • The inside of a house taken back to its timber framing, lit by daylight through open window openings

    Rewiring · Fairstead · 2025

Staged rewire of a 1926 four-square, lived in throughout

Knob-and-tube live in the upper floor and buried in blown-in insulation. Rewired in two stages eight months apart, with every opening agreed on a drawing before anything was cut. Forty-one photographs of the cavities went to the owners.

  • A contemporary kitchen with a long island and a row of pendant lights

    Lighting · Northgate · 2026

Kitchen lighting plan — six downlights instead of twelve

The brief was twelve recessed fittings. The plan that got built was six, plus a continuous under-cabinet run and a warm pendant layer over the island, all on matched dimmers. One colour temperature across the whole sightline.

  • A person starting a portable generator outdoors

    Generators · Pike Hollow · 2025

Transfer switch for a portable generator already in the garage

The owners had a good portable unit and a bad habit. A ten-circuit manual transfer switch, an inlet on the outside wall, and a laminated card listing which circuits it covers. Half a day, and the back-fed cord went in the bin.

    Protection · Rye Hollow · 2026

Whole-home surge protection after a second control board failure

Two heat-pump control boards in fourteen months, on a service that sees regular utility switching. A panel-mounted surge protective device fitted in under two hours, with the point-of-use strips left exactly where they were.

    Commercial · Aldingham · 2025

LED retrofit and controls for a 9,000 sq ft workshop unit

Metal halide high bays replaced with LED, on occupancy sensing and daylight harvesting along the roof lights. Worked across four evenings so the unit never lost a trading day, with as-built drawings and a fixture schedule handed over.

GFCI protection and device replacement through a 1978 ranch

Forty-eight-year-old receptacles that no longer gripped a plug, two of them discoloured. Every device replaced, GFCI protection added to the kitchen, bathrooms, garage and exterior, and the downstream coverage mapped and written down.
